More About You
Just like us, you might be considered a little "out of the ordinary"... you find, generally, that the current way of doing things is not really your cup of tea. In general, you are always asking "why" - why things are the way they are, and, is there a better way? You also like to know the "how" of things - how does this work, how did we get here? You most likely continually question if you are “normal” or what “normal” is, or whether there is such a thing. You might be described (by yourself or others) as an odd duck, unique, a deep thinker, a seeker, multi-passionate, or absent-minded, and you are trying to figure out where you fit in. You may have been diagnosed with anxiety, depression, ADHD, chronic health issues, substance reliance or existential angst.
You may have hit up the local bookstore recently to grab some books by Gabor Mate or Bessel van der Kolk, in order to "fix what's wrong with you." Or you may have grabbed a book on permaculture or tiny homes so you can prepare to "exit the system." We might find you at your local farmer's market on a Saturday morning, if you haven't stayed up too late the night before Googling "does God exist," "what is quantum tunneling" or "what are signs that I have ADHD." You may have recently watched "Loose Change," and find yourself ruminating about it. Maybe you have looked into John Gottman's work, as you think your relationships are suffering as a result of feeling as though you can't quite relate to the people around you.
You question the conventional "wisdom" and think about things differently than most. You would like to do things differently, but you're just not sure where to start. Perhaps you've looked into talk therapy, but for the same reasons as us, you were put off by the whole thing. Maybe you've looked into the alternatives such as nature based recreational therapy, and you just think it might be a bit too much for you at this stage. If you're somewhere in between hating being in an office, and not quite wanting to go out for a backwoods adventure, we might be the right fit for you.
